" Color is the most powerful aesthetic element in a work of art. My work, as suggested by particular titles, is most profoundly about my response to the color in any given setting or subject. In its simplicity, color most succinctly and instinctively describes human emotion and reaction in a powerful and dynamic way. As an artist, it is often this property that most meaningfully drives my paintings ..."
"... My use of strong colors and bold brush strokes describe my emotional response to the local landscape and the awe I continually experience for nature's perfect form, color and atmosphere. Like a favorite artist, Emily Carr, I am fascinated by the woods and trees that seem to have personalities of their own. The light falling on foliage and shadows dancing on trunks and limbs delights and encourages my painting passion." |

Michele is a visual artist and art educator currently teaching in the Colebrook Academy and Elementary Schools. Her journey into the visual arts have led her to explore a variety of mediums over the last 35 years. Printmaking, watercolor, calligraphy and colored pencil have all played a role in many of her pieces. She currently works predominently in acrylics, creating large canvases inspired by the powerful New Hampshire landscapes in which she resides.
Michele has an Associates Degree and Bachelor of Science in Art Education from the Granite State College of New Hampshire. |
